I've been a horrible blogger lately! Sorry for the lack of posts around here. I got back from my trip a little exhausted and didn't have the energy to write much on top of unpacking, doing laundry, and catching up on work. And now I'm sick. :( I promise there will be a flow of posts soon. I definitely have a lot to tell you about.
Of course, there's the cruise. I think I'll do a recap after Thanksgiving because my mom took a lot of pictures, and I need to get those from her in order to do the trip justice.
Last week I made a garlicky chicken and green bean dish for dinner. It was a simple, flavorful weeknight dish, and I will post the recipe soon.
On Friday night I went to a potluck dinner to celebrate the release of Amanda Hesser's new cookbook and got to meet Amanda in person! I went with Meghan and Alicia, and we were all starstruck seeing Jody Adams, Barbara Lynch, and Ana Sortun placing their potluck contributions alongside ours. I also got to catch up with Joanne Chang at the event. I'll have a recap of the event and what I made for you soon.
I've been cooking/baking all weekend in preparation for another potluck today with some of my favorite blogger pals. There were some near-disasters that occurred even though I followed the recipes exactly, so I'll have some revised recipes to share with you.
And I also made my first chicken soup form scratch this weekend. I figured it would be a nice treat to myself and maybe help me to feel better. Recipe coming soon!
Lastly, I'll have some Thanksgiving desserts to share with you probably by next week.
If you miss my posts, head over to my Examiner page for some winter market and cranberry info. And if you're a Boston-area blogger (I have to stick with a local angle), I'm collecting links to your recipes using fresh cranberries, so I can share the links on Examiner. Feel free to post links in the comments here.
What have all of you been up to lately?
