Taste Of The Nation Returns To Boston

One of the best food events of the year is coming up: Taste of the Nation Boston. Taste of the Nation is a culinary benefit that raises critical funds needed to support Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign, which is dedicated to ending childhood hunger. One hundred percent of the ticket sales goes to this cause.

Taste of the Nation is held in cities across the country, including Boston. In the past Taste of the Nation Boston, which features Boston-area restaurants, has been held at the Hynes Convention Center, but it will be at a new location this year: Cruiseport Boston at Black Falcon Pier. The Cruiseport is a waterfront venue with amazing views of the Boston Harbor.

What else is new? Tony Maws of Craigie on Main will be the fifth honorary chef chair, joining Jody Adams, Joanne Chang, Gordon Hamersley, and Andy Husbands.

There will be food, wine, specialty cocktails, a silent auction, and entertainment. I'm particularly looking forward to trying bites from Area Four, Cinquecento, Flour Bakery, L'Espalier, Neptune Oyster, Trade, and West Bridge -- just some of the many restaurants participating in this year's Taste of the Nation Boston.

The event is on Thursday, April 18, 2013, and starts at 6:00 p.m. for those with VIP tickets and 7:00 p.m. for those with general admission tickets. Tickets cost $95 for general admission and $150 for VIP admission. Between now and March 29, you can use the code EATOUTBOSTON to save 15% off the ticket price.

I am receiving a complimentary ticket to cover the event. All opinions are my own.
