Thanksgiving Recipes

I'm back! The cruise was so much fun, and I wish I could have stayed much longer, but we all have to get back to reality at some point, right? While I'm digging out from under piles of laundry and sorting through pictures so I can write a post about the trip, I thought I'd share some Thanksgiving recipes with you guys. It will be here before we know it!

Thank You's

Before I get into those, I wanted to say a huge thank you to Daisy, Michelle, Meghan, Jen, and Emily for writing guest posts for me. Unfortunately, even though they were fine in preview mode, the pictures in Emily's post didn't show up. I've fixed them and you can go back and check out how delicious her taco dinner looked now.

I also wanted to thank all of you for  all the congratulatory comments about my engagement. I am beyond excited and now that I'm back from vacation, I'm going to get serious about the wedding planning!

Thanksgiving

Last year I made a mini Thanksgiving dinner just for Jeff and me so I could try out some Thanksgiving recipes. I wrote all about how I planned and executed the meal and shared the recipes I tried. It was really fun, and I learned that brining a turkey is definitely the way to go. If you've never done it before, I encourage you to try it out this year (whether you're hosting Thanksgiving or just want to make a mini Thanksgiving dinner of your own). Below are links to recipes from that dinner as well as some other great Thanksgiving recipes.

Desserts

This year we're going to Jeff's parents' house for dinner on Thanksgiving and then meeting my family at the Cape on Saturday for another Thanksgiving dinner. I don't know if I'll end up making a mini Thanksgiving dinner, but I'll definitely be making some desserts and maybe trying out a few Thanksgiving-worthy recipes just for fun!

Do you know what you're making for Thanksgiving this year? What are your favorite Thanksgiving dishes?

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear about the great Caribbean eats from your trip. Those herb and cheese poppers might have to make a debut on my family's Thanksgiving menu!

Welcome back! We missed you. I just posted a similar post with some TG recipes as well. I'm doing a mini-TG dinner for Hubby and I for the Friday after TG this year. Trying to not go too overboard. Those pecan pie bars look amazing though!

Oh, Megan..thank you for sharing such a wonderful abundance of mouth watering T-Day recipes. I was looking for something new, as I try to add a 'newbie' every year and see if it sticks with old standby's, and I think either the caramel pecan bars or potato autumn veggie hash might be it :) they look incredible!!

Awesome roundup! It's making me hungry and I just finished breakfast! I come from a family of hardcore cooks that take Thanksgiving very seriously. So I get the night off and just have to show up and eat :) Hope you have a great one.

We FINALLY know what we are doing for Thanksgiving! It turns out that we are staying here in the US, but since my nephew was early we could have gone to Ireland after all. Oh well, I guess you can't plan some things!
Your "mini" meal looks incredible. I am so excited for roasted turkey, sparkling wine, and Brussels sprouts.

Welcome back!

Those poppers and both desserts look SO GOOD.

I am the world's worst vegetarian. Not only do I not eat meat or fish, but I'm not overly crazy for veggies. My Thanksgiving main course taps into my Italian heritage. Either stuffed shells or lasagna! :)

the main thing I want for Thanksgiving food-wise are mashed potatoes. Love that you topped yours with crispy shallots. How about bacon? (well, maybe not for those who keep Kosher)

The roasted vegetables look so good! My favorite is potatoes.
Congrtulations!

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear about the cruise. I'm making Thanksgiving dinner this year, and might have to add some crispy shallots to the mashed sweet potatoes. Thanks for the idea!
