King Arthur Flour Company Giveaway

Yesterday, I wrote all about my love for the King Arthur Flour Company (KAF). If you missed the post, it's worth going back and checking it out. Go on. This post will still be here when you're done.

Here are some highlights from yesterday's "Why I Love The King Arthur Flour Company":

High-quality flours
Amazing baking products
An education center and traveling baking demos
Recipes
An informative, entertaining blog

Now... on to the giveaway!

About a month ago I received an email from KAF touting a cute new T-shirt that says "bake" across the front. As a baker, I was immediately smitten and thought that those of you who read my blog and bake a lot would love the T-shirt too.

(P.S. Do you get the emails from King Arthur -- they are so dangerous! But they have tons of great deals and promotions, so it's definitely worth signing up for them. I went on the site to order the "bake" T-shirt for myself and ended up adding four more things to my shopping cart! The good news is that everything ships so quickly, I've never had to wait more than a day for my goodies!)

With crossed fingers and high hopes, I sent off an email asking if we could work together on a giveaway. KAF's Web media coordinator replied that she would love to work with me on a giveaway, and in addition to the T-shirt, she would also like to throw in a bag of all-purpose flour and a recent copy of The Baking Sheet. Did I mention I love the King Arthur Flour Company?! One of you is getting so spoiled!

Bake T-Shirt

The shirt also comes in pink with brown letters, green with cream letters, a men's version, and a kid's version. And I can tell you from personal experience that it's incredibly soft and comfortable.

The Baking Sheet Newsletter

In order to be eligible for the giveaway, please leave a comment letting me know something about the King Arthur Flour Company that you already love or something you are now inspired to check out after reading my post yesterday. If you have some time, head over to the King Arthur Flour Company Web site, and tell me about all the products you would get or the classes you would take -- let's pretend money's no object here.

Note: King Arthur only ships to U.S. addresses. You have until 11:59 p.m. EST on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 to leave your comment. One comment per person please.

Thank you so much to the King Arthur Flour Company for providing me with the opportunity to host such a great giveaway!

We're making a huge batch of challah this weekend (had to wait until the humidity decreased to even contemplate such a thing), and will definitely be using KAF!

How fun! That shirt is too cute.

I LOVE KAF and it's what I use at home. While all of my baking is done in my house, I would love to learn more and am constantly looking for new things to try!

My adventure this year has been sourdough, and I've gone through more flour this year than any before.

I would love to take ANY of their classes - especially the whole grain baking and the wood oven. Too bad I don't live there :)

I love that they include recipes in their catalog. And, of course, the recipes on their website. What can I say? I'm a recipe junkie. :)

There are so many products I would buy if money were no object--a lot of bread baking supplies, for example. And their secret ingredients, like the hi maize natural fiber and pizza dough flavor. I could go nuts with all the bakeware... Ahhh... what fun a shopping spree would be!

That shirt is cute! I like that KAF is one the of best places to work in Vermont. That says a lot about how the company views its employees and the products that it offers. At the very least, this says that quality is king from the ground - up!

If I had an opportunity to take a class, I would want a beginners lesson for the home baker. It looks like quite of its classes are sold-out.

That shirt is so cute! I love KAF's whole wheat flour. I use it all the time.

I had no idea that they did classes! I would take the Cool & Fruity Summer Desserts class.

I really enjoy KAF's Baking Banter blog. Recently they featured a hot dog bun pan that I totally fell in love with.

I've been a KAF junkie for years and even did a post showing my "flour freezer," which they actually read and tweeted about! Their newsletters ARE dangerous as are their catalogs. I'll be posting a cream cheese tart from one of their most recent catalogs later this week.

I have been dying to get one of those shirts. I keep hinting to people, and their flour is the only flour I use now. They have so many other goodies too. Man now I want to go shopping on their site.

Love KAF! I love their recipe for lemon squares and their unbleached AP flour. I would love to get my hands on some of their cinnamon chips!

What an awesome giveaway Megan!!! Gotta love KAF. I would be happy just to win the tee (so cute). I'm hoping they come to NY soon so that I can take some of their classes. But in the meantime, you just reminded me that I have to order some of the chocolate buttons from their site. I love making chocolate chips cookies with them because they get real gooey and melty.

I've been using KAF for years and I LOVE them. I've taken their classes when I was living in San Diego. and make fabulous bread because of them!
My very favorite product of theirs is their Signature Secrets Thickener. I swear by this stuff and recommend it to everyone. I use it for gravies, sauces, even my home made apple pie filling that I can in the fall.

I shop at KAF for every reason you enumerated in your post. But also for one more reason: their advice and support! I can call them or post a question below a recipe/blog posting and they will answer quickly, enthusiastically, and honestly. It is clear that everyone who works there loves what they do, where they do it, and sharing that love.

My father is not the most verbally expressive, but he, my sister, and I honour his mother through baking and KAF helps us share that-- we trade tips we've learned, recipes, and I send my father interesting ingredients from them from time to time (boiled cider!) that help spark dialogue and bonding that is otherwise a little awkward. Next summer, we're going to attend a KAF baking class on their campus together for Father's Day!

If money were no object I'd take *all* their classes! The wood oven and croissant classes sound intriguing.

We use KAF exclusively in our house. I especially love that they offer many of their varieties in an organic version, and that *all* their flours are free of genetically modified ingredients (and they state their stance agains them on their website - hooray for standing up for safe food!)

AP, whole wheat, and bread flour are used the most (and found locally) but we've ordered the pastry flour and high-gluten flour so I can see how they improve the biscuits and bagels.

The fact that they are 100 percent employee-owned is great - and it shows in the care and attention to the products and customer service. I subscribe to their emails and have fanned them on Facebook :-)

I didn't know there was a t-shirt! It's so cute! Pink and brown is one of my favorite color combos.

I love their blog, their huge selection of recipes, and the fact that they have a baker's hotline available. Wow.

For my credit card's sake I try to avoid their store, but I have been lusting after a dough whisk for the longest time.

Michelle Schumacher said...

King Arthur flour is the only flour I'll use. I too bake all the time, my favorite thing to bake being bread. I have the Baker's Companion cookbook and have made many of the recipes in it. I have yet to find one we don't care for. I also frequent KAF's website to search for new recipes to try. I love KAF!!!

The best batches of challah bread are with King Arthur's Flour. Never mind that it makes me feel like I'm using ingredients fit for a king, but I like how clear their labels are. They tell us right there that it is unbleached and no genetically modified ingredients. And when the dough has to rise twice for the challah, KAF's unbleached flour rises to the test (pun intended).

i am madly in love with KAF! i annoy my family and friends by talking about it ALL THE TIME and have actually converted many :)

NOW i am most glad that thanks to their tweet (yes, they are on twitter! @kingarthurflour) i saw your blog post yesterday and have added you to my reader!

I have subscribed the The Baking Sheet for 18 years. My first issue is the Jan. / Feb 1992 issue. I have been with them for a very long time and I wouldn't know how or what to bake without them.

King Arthur Flour is the best. I love their store in Vermont. My friend and I had a girl's getaway to Vermont several years ago and I dragged her there. Of course, once she was in there she loved it, too. They always have great recipes and I totally trust their advice.

Love KA Flour. Sad when Trader Joe's stopped selling it in favor or some house-labeled flour that kinda looks like KA.

I just became aware of King Arthur Flour last summer and wow, it has changed my life. The emails and tweets are dangerous - and so amazing. I hardly ever make the same recipe twice because I'm so excited to make the newest one!

I've been working on my bread making skills, so I'm hoping to get a lame and dough whisk for my birthday. And a digital scale. Seems I would make less of a mess if I wasn't sprinkling flour all the time :)

Thanks for the fun giveaway!

I just found your site! Love it! I love KAF, too! I get their emails and I just drool over not only the recipes but just the overall wealth of knowledge that it brings - right to my inbox :)
I would love to own the Tortilla Maker and most of the gadgets that are listed in the catalog. Thanks for the opportunity to win here :)

What a fun giveaway! Thanks for letting me know about it :) I LOVED visiting their store. Something I know about them - they have every kind of flour you can think of and they have a bakery in their factory store that has cupcake samples. Oooh yeah!

great giveaway! I LOVE the recipes on their site and always have great success with them!

KAF really does have the best flour. And their website is really great - they have so many products besides just flour. For example, when I was searching for a sourdough starter, I saw that they sell one and they also sell a container to keep it in - how cool! I was lucky enough to get some starter sent to me by a friend of a friend, but KAF was definitely my backup, and I will go to them if mine ever dies.
This is such a great giveaway!

I love King Arthur Flour and have for at least 10 years. I belong to the BAking Circle and check the great wonderful amazing blog every single day. One thing that is really be best about KAF is how available they are if you have a question about anything they sell or do. Even when you spot a mistake in one of their books they respond immediately to your query. I bought my first Zojirushi bread machine from them and could not cope without it. Try the Fiori de Sicilia - it has become my signature for special baked goods. There is no end to the reasons why I love KAF. I only wish they were closer to Oregon where I live!

I've taken some of the one day classes there - well worth it for beginners AND experienced home bakers. (One of these days I'll get to one of their 3-day artisanal bread sessions!)

One of my favorite things that KAF offers is a live "chat" with any of their experts via the website. I've contacted them many a time in the midst of some baking session where I "oopsed": didn't have some ingredient called for, put in too much baking powder/baking soda, etc. They ask a lot of specific questions, give great advice, then ask you to check back with them to let them know how things went. Invaluable! (Of course, the flour is excellent too...)

I love King Arthur Flour! As of yesterday though, my UPS delivery woman does not like KAF very much! She had to deliver two large boxes full of flour--can you say HEAVY!?

I'm pretty new to baking bread and started using the KAF bread flour at the recommendation of an instructor. Now I use a variety of KAF flours for all my flour needs, which are considerable since I love to bake!

There are so many things in their online shop that I'd love to try--like a Pullman pan, bread improvers, and the cookie dough scoops, but I'm most looking forward to trying the hot dog bun pan sometime (hint, hint, hubby!). Sorry UPS driver!

As a novice baker, I had to go to one place I could trust for ingredients and equipment. I found King Arthur Flour and have become a diehard fan! I can call them, Chat with them, ask questions on the blog, follow their step by step photos on the blog, learn from their mistakes, and get help when something in my order isn't quite right (three bags of flour busted one time). I only buy Organic flour, and they have an amazing array of items. I have "graduated" to the Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes and felt rather proud of myself for using "fancy" flour! They are so supportive! I can't say enough good about them!

I love my silicone rolling mat from King Arthur. It makes patting out bread dough and pizza a breeze. And it's easy to clean. I also love the wonderful and strange ingredients they sell that I didn't even know I needed! They encourage me stretch my baking muscles. My shopping cart at KA is always a work in progress.

I love to bake! I bake all the time. From now on, based soley on your last blog, I will only buy King Arthur Products. I will use them for the first time making the Mexican Chocolate Crackle Cookies. Thanks... Love getting your emails.

Shannon said...

aah, i've totally gone on KAF to make a wish list by filling my cart with goodies :) haven't bought anything yet though... as i might be making a friend's wedding cake, i'd totally go for one of those classes! sounds like i need to sign up for their newsletter!

I took a biscotti class last fall, and it was really great. I would love to go back for another class! If I had to recommend one thing from KA, it would be the fioi di sicilia flavoring. It smells like orange dreamsicles and adds a wonderful flavor in place of vanilla.

Love baking with KAF. They have an awesome website with great products and very informative infomation.

Julie said...

I can't remember how or where I found KAF first - I just know I love them! I follow their blog, they are almost my sole source for bread recipes (I usually always make my own bread) and after reading about flour and the differences therein I'm only buying KAF! I have a packed shopping cart...and simply haven't hit the "buy" button yet!

I probably haven't answered your question yet either - I just got started on why I love KAF!

Rechecked what you were looking for - I gave it to you and then some! : )

Happy baking!

Parchment paper. Can't live without it. KA parchment paper fits the pan and lays flat. I use many KA products and would love to take some classes, although, that would take some effort since I'm in TN. flour, flax, flavorings,--their biscotti pans are some of my favorite! Thanks for the give away.

I'd love to take that 3-part Cake Decorating class...
Unfortunately we don't get KAF here in Italy... boo!

But when I am in America visiting family, I always manage to get my hands dirty with some. I love making crusty Italian pane casareccio with the KAF yeast and sourdough starters.

Brava, this is a great post series!
