Along with Christine Liu of Urbanspoon, Rachel threw the Boston Food Bloggers Launch Party at The Gallows in the South End. The party, which began at 6, was already hopping by the time Daisy, Meghan, Alicia, Michelle, and I arrived at 6:08.
We got in the door and signed in with Rachel and Joel, her boyfriend and right-hand man of the evening, and received our swag bags (more on those later).
We worked our way to the center of the room, got small glasses of Pretty Things Jack D'Or and some Gallows' "mini" burgers.
The burgers were far from mini and hit the spot.
Later, I grabbed some poutine -- fries, served in a paper cone with cheese curd and gravy.
We mingled with bloggers, seeing some familiar faces and some new faces. I enjoyed seeing, catching up with, or meeting all of these fabulous food bloggers, and more!

Toward the end of the 2-hour party, Meghan, Alicia, and I made our way to the door, saying goodbyes as best we could on the way out. Alicia so nicely dropped me off at home so I didn't have to spend forever on the T.
When I got in, I plopped down on the couch and went through the contents of the swag bag. I could not believe all the stuff from Legacy Place. I love Legacy Place and bug Jeff to go there with me most weekends. Now, armed with all these great gift certificates and coupons from Yard House, b.good, Aquitaine, King's, Wicked Fire Kissed Pizza, and the movie theater, I think I'll be able to convince him to head out there even more often. I see some great date nights coming up! Whole Foods Dedham even threw in some of their fabulous fig jam (I have an open container of it in my fridge right now).
And don't think the local spots left us out... I found gift certificates and coupons for Island Creek Oyster Bar, Union Bar and Grille, American Provisions (has anyone been here yet?), Morton's, Eastern Standard, Russell House Tavern, and more!
There were also coupons and a calendar from Whole Foods River Street and a discount for classes at BCAE. And last but not least some Biscotti Babies, Pretzel Crisps, and Chocolee chocolates. I've never heard of Biscotti Babies, so I'm looking forward to trying those, and I already know I love Pretzel Crisps.
I feel like we've been incredibly spoiled!
Thanks to Rachel and Christine for putting together such an amazing event.
Were you there? What was your favorite part of the launch party?

The swag bag was awesome. Hubby and I ate the biscotti babies as I was going through the goodies. I can't wait to try out some new restaurants using the coupons we got!
Enjoyed the feedback on this special event. Sorry I missed this even with advanced tix. Qualified for gift bag too :(
A job well done by all planners and contributors. Look forward to future events.

So much good food and so good seeing you. Glad we'll be seeing each other again soon!
Such a cute photo of Rachel! I had a lot of fun, I just wish I mingled a little more. It was hard to move around!
Monday night was a lot of fun! The swag bag was incredible and I think I'm going to give some of the gift certificates out as giveaways on my blog!
SO great to see you! It was a wonderful evening- Im not sure I could pick out a favorite part other than the wonderful-ness of reuniting with the wonderful Boston food bloggers. I still have the warm and fuzzies!
I am even more sad that I missed this event now that I've seen the guest list and swag list!! Those are some incredible freebies. Glad the party was a blast!!
I think the biscotti babies will be my breakfast this morning. I am so mad I didn't eat one of those burgers after being offered like 5 times. of course i wanted one towards the end and there were none in sight. the poutine was amazing though. can we go back?
seriously - what a fun group! I wish I lived in Boston so I could hang out with that group all the time :)
The launch party was a blast!! Sorry we didn't bump into each other--there were so many bloggers there! Great recap of the night :) Hope to bump into you at the next food blogger event!

Aww I was out of town and couldn't make it! Everyone wrote rave reviews, and it seems like you all had a great time!
Sounds like a great time!
hey megan, i'm super glad you could enjoy every minute of it! thanks for the awesome recap. aaand, congrats, you are now the new owner of a swank goodie-bag project queue. (painful!) now that we've confirmed that we're neighbors, i definitely can empathize with the 'riding the T forever' thing. glad you made it hope happily and safely! cheers, christine
Such wonderful pics! I'm so GLAD we finally got to meet!! It totally felt like we already knew each other! I wish I got one of those burgers- they look amazing, especially right now : )

Thanks for the lovely picture of Joel and me! In most photos of us, he's usually trying to give me a lap dance, licking my face, or otherwise bombing the photo. This one, though, is grandmother-safe :) So glad that you had a good time at the event! Thanks for coming, and I'm sure I'll see you around soon!
bummed i missed out on the swag bags, but it was great to see you and everyone else!
The swag bag was hooked up! Sounds like a very fun night.
